  • Grey 100% Alpaca Yarn – Wile Farm This soft and silky yarn is made from the fleece of our grey alpacas at Wile Farm, shorn in the spring of 2025. The yarn is 2-ply, and each 100 grams contains approximately 251 meters of luxuriously soft fiber – perfect for knitting projects that are warm, lightweight, and durable. Alpaca fiber is naturally lustrous and silky, renowned for its exceptional warmth. It is considered up to seven times warmer than sheep’s wool. Since alpaca fiber contains no lanolin, it is non-itchy and suitable even for sensitive skin. Our grey yarn has a subtle brownish undertone, resulting from the natural brown flecks found in the fleece of grey alpacas. This gives the yarn a unique, lively hue and a natural depth of color. Alpacas come in 22 natural shades – our grey yarn is an elegant and timeless choice, ideal for knitting sweaters, hats, and scarves. Yarn made from the fleece of Wile Farm alpacas carries the OMA label issued by the Estonian Folk Art and Craft Union. The OMA mark stands for ethically sourced and processed local materials – a true symbol of Estonian craftsmanship and harmony with nature.
